My friend text me the other day and told me to look up this song. I found it to be very inspirational. It seems that in today’s society everyone wants to kick you when your down. They throw all of your bad mistakes in your face without even taking a chance to see what sin they have committed. People assume that we are so fragile and breakable like glass and paper. What’s amazing is that we have complete control. We can let them break us and tear us apart…only if we let them. Sometimes we have to let everything go and let people do their worst. But I love the part that says,

Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper!
Like a skyscraper!

I love this part of the chorus because people can say what they want to try and break you, but the strength is in you to stand tall and keep pressing on despite everything. It’s a cool thought because skyscrapers are tall buildings that command attention and always catch your eye. Just like when we look up to see how high a building is built, your oppressors will have to look up to you because they will have failed in tearing you down. Don’t let anyone push you around. You have the control so don’t give it up to those who want you to feel broken.
